Create a design or buy a plan

Chicken coops do not have to be overly expensive.  A simple housing environment can be just as effective as an extravagant house.  Chickens are fairly easy to care for.  Make sure their home is sturdy enough to withstand varying weather and keep predators out.

Designing a Coop

Coops can be designed in many shapes and sizes.  Purchasing a prefabricated coop is the easiest way to go, but it is also the most expensive.  A coop can be built with homemade scraps laying around or purchased lumber.  Plans can be drawn up or even purchased from a supply store.
